Week 2

This week I planned a camping trip for me and some of my friends. When we were driving over to the campsite we all had the directions on our phones, however, as kids raised on technology we forgot that there would be no cell service near the campsite. Once we were about 4 miles away our directions stopped and we had to start reading signs. We ended up driving up and down the windy road a few times until we finally spotted the hidden campsite. We ended up at a beautiful spot that was full of lush forest and had a great time, but always remember to print out a map or the directions! After planning my first trip I learned a lot about communicating effectively and efficiently to make sure we were all on the same page. I think it's really helpful to make sure you are checking the weather forecast and packing accordingly. Week 1

For this project, I am working independently to plan outdoor trips in order to gain independence in the wilderness and learn how to be a responsible outdoor recreator. I chose this project because over the last year going on outdoor trips was the only normal thing I could continue doing. My appreciation and love for the outdoors quickly grew and I wanted to reflect that in my senior project. This project is giving me an opportunity to further one of my hobbies and learn how I can actually plan trips on my own. I was inspired to do this project because after a stressful end to the first semester I wanted to do a project focused on relaxing and doing something I knew I would enjoy. Although I am working independently, I made a group chat of classmates that seemed interested in attending the trips I planned so that they could be social and a fun end to the year.
